Ever played a game of HORSE? That’s the idea here.

We’ll start by drawing a random climbing order. Once the order is set, the first climber chooses the opening problem.

We begin at V3, and after each full round (once every climber has attempted a problem), the grade will increase based on the round.

How it works:

• The climber whose turn it is selects a problem.

• If they send it, every climber after them must also send that same problem.

• We continue down the line until someone fails.

If either:

• the climber who chose the problem (the “setter”) fails, or

• any climber in the lineup fails, then the next climber in order selects a new problem.

Each time a climber fails a problem, they earn a letter. Once a climber spells JUG, they are out of the competition.

Rest & pacing:

• The only rest during the competition is while other climbers are taking their turns.

• Once the field is down to the final 5 climbers, a 10-minute break before resuming climbing

This continues rotating through climbers, increasing grades, and eliminating climbers until only one climber remains.
